Valentina
Villa Valentina stands above the dramatic south west coast of Paxos with mesmerising views over the sea with the tip of AntiPaxos in the distance. An excellent spot to watch the setting sun.
About a kilometre inland from Gaios, a small country road winds its way through the old village of Velianitatika and after a further 500 metres, ends at one of the most beautiful locations above the west coast – the hamlet of Galazio. A natural and peaceful landscape of olive groves set on hillside terraces, peppered with tall cypress trees and majestic umbrella pines.
Half way along the track from Velianitatika to Galazio, a smaller track leads to Valentina.
For keen walkers, the hamlets around Galazio have many ancient goat paths crossing a wild landscape of valleys and hillsides above the west coast. Weathered olive groves, enclosed by lopsided dry stone walls, hide the occasional house and church – here there is only the sound of cicadas.
There are goat paths leading to flat bathing rocks below the villa but some paths are overgrown and it is best to have a hire car to get to more accessible beaches.
