Villa Evangelia has some of the best views over Gaios port and there is an olive grove pathway leading from the villa to Gaios waterfront.
Paxos’ east coast road starts at Gaios port and passes a string of sheltered beaches before turning inland – a track then leads off to the deserted village of Geramonachos.
In centuries past, when island ports were attacked by pirates, the local women and children of Gaios were hidden in this hilltop village, surrounded by olive groves.
Most of the village houses have now crumbled but the area is known by the islanders for its peaceful seclusion.
Villa Evangelia has a private hillside location just below the deserted village and has views over St Nicholas island, marking the entrance to Gaios port, the silver-leaved olive trees of the east coast and across the sea to the mountains of the Greek mainland.
A pathway leads from the villa down the hillside of olive groves to Gaios in under 15 minutes. There are many interesting goat path walks surrounding the villa.
East coast beaches are nearby (Kloni Gouli beach is just over half a kilometre away).
In the same area, on separate hillside terraces, are Evangelia’s two sister villas: Anassa and Thekli. Each has its own seclusion and privacy.

Facilities:
We loved Evangelia. Comfortable, spacious and private. The surrounding olive groves make you feel secluded but Gaios is on your doorstep.
Our teenage boys were able to take themselves off to Gaios (a safe path all the way to the village waterfront) so that we were not tied to being taxi drivers.
