Villa Kastanida is only a 10 minute walk away from the village of Magazia but, surrounded by a beautiful, west coast landscape, it enjoys privacy and tranquillity.
The villa is one of two villas (about 50 metres apart) on a hillside terrace above a west coast valley of olive, pine and cypress trees.
Ancient goat paths, which once led down to a series of nearby beaches, are now partly overgrown so although an interesting area of the island to explore on foot, for sea swimming - a car is needed.
Kastanida’s access track winds its way through olive groves and a series of tiny, sleepy hamlets (Kastanida is the name of the nearest hamlet).
An elevated infinity pool has a water cascade feature. This feature makes the property unsuitable for adventurous toddlers.
Private swimming pool 4.6m x 7.6m
Maid service & linen change twice weekly
Location: car hire recommended. 10 minute walk (2 minute drive) to Magazia (two tavernas, minimarket, general store, bakery). 10 minute drive to shops, tavernas, boat hire and beaches of Loggos, Lakka and Gaios. 10 minute drive to Erimitis beach.
Accommodation:
Ground floor of a large open-plan living area with sitting room, dining area and kitchen; cloakroom; utility room. Staircase up to master double bedroom and en suite shower room. Staircase down from living area to twin bedroom and en suite shower room.
Facilities:
If you’re looking for the wow factor, the coastal view from Villa Kastanida is nothing short of spectacular- you can even see the sea whilst lying in bed in the master bedroom and gaze at it whilst in the pool!
This villa and plot are far more spacious than it looks in the photos - modern, very nicely presented and perfectly equipped for a holiday, with a lovely landscaped, thoughtfully planted site.
We loved the more remote west coast location and the authentic village of Magazia with an array of eateries is a pleasant 10 minute walk through the olive groves. The track is a bit bumpy so choose your car rental wisely!
A fabulous spot - we all loved it and would go back in a heartbeat!
