Just above Monodendri beach are three excellent tavernas and a bar. At one end of the beach there is Bastas Taverna and at the other end: Ben’s Bar (with resident masseur and ambient music to accompany a long list of cocktails) and on a hillside terrace above is Eftihia (Ben’s mum)’s taverna and our favourite lunchtime Paxos view.

The winding access road down to Monodendri passes about eight houses but the valley above the beach is delightfully natural and thick with olive groves, peppered by tall cypress and bushy pine.

500 metres above the beach is Villa Edafos.

Edafos has stunning views over the surrounding olive groves and across the sea to the Greek mainland.

Just below the villa (a 10 minute walk but steepish coming back) is the beach, fringed by olive trees, and a choice of three excellent tavernas.

Edafos' owners live privately on a hillside terrace 50 metres below.

Maid service & linen change twice weekly

Location: car hire recommended. Monodendri beach is a 10 minute walk away. Loggos is under a 10 minute drive and Lakka is a 5 minute drive. Loggos and Lakka have waterfront tavernas, shops and boat hire.
