Villa Thekli has captivating views down a valley of olive groves to the port of Gaios. A pathway leads from the villa to Gaios waterfront.

Paxos’ east coast road runs from Gaios port and passes a string of small beaches before turning inland – a track then leads off to the deserted village of Geramonachos.

In centuries past, when island ports were attacked by pirates, the women and children of Gaios were taken to this hilltop village for safe-keeping, hidden by olive groves.

Most of the village houses have now become ruins but the area is known by the islanders for its peaceful seclusion. There are many goat path walks linking small coastal hamlets.

Villa Thekli enjoys a private hillside location just below the deserted village and has views over the entrances to Gaios port, the silver-leaved olive trees of the east coast and across the sea to the mountains of the Greek mainland.

A pathway leads from the villa down the hillside of olive groves to Gaios in under 15 minutes.

East coast beaches are nearby - pretty Kloni Gouli beach is just over half a kilometre away.

In the same area, on separate hillside terraces, are Thekli’s two sister villas: Anassa and Evangelia. Each has its own seclusion and privacy.
