Spinolatika Akis' House

2 Bedrooms / 2 Bathrooms / Sleeps 4

Arkoudi is the name given by the locals of Lakka to the undulating headland of olive groves and pine copses, which is next to Lakka Bay and between Arkoudaki beach and Orkos beach, to the south east.

Above the sea, with a private pathway to Orkos beach (there is no public road to the beach), is Spinolatika. Here there are five houses, each hidden by established gardens and olive groves: Nikos' House, Akis' House, Valentino's House, Barbara's House and Iva's House.

The houses were built for a large Italian family, which has had a close association with Paxos for many years.

Furnishings for all houses are elegant and individual. Each house has its own colour scheme, garden design, character and vibe.

In July and August, all five houses are available to be rented as one property (sleeping up to 19 people). In the other months the five houses are available to be rented individually.

A large, central Clubhouse (called Vergos House) features a library, cocktails tent, sitting room, dining room and a swimming pool designed to imitate a beach setting. The resident chef prepares dinner each evening and this is served in the Clubhouse dining room. All dinners are complimentary and attendance can be confirmed the day before.

Beautiful Orkos beach, where olive trees are just above the beach to provide natural shade, is reached via a pathway and a series of stone steps to flat bathing rocks and then the beach itself – a walk of around 10 minutes down and longer coming back up.

On site there are 3 “golf buggies” (carrying up to 4 people), which can be prebooked for a small charge, payable locally, to drive to the beach steps.

The walk down to Lakka village (a good selection of tavernas and shops plus waterfront boat hire and a path to two beaches within the Bay) takes around 10 minutes along an uneven track and olive grove pathways.

We recommend car hire for ease of access and to explore the many parts of Paxos.

A resident couple (staying in Vergos House) look after the housekeeping. Maid service is daily and includes clothes washing & ironing.

Akis' House is all on one floor and has a double bedroom with en suite shower room and an outside "open air" bathroom with shower and deep bath; one twin bedroom with en suite shower room; two small sitting rooms, one with a concealed kitchenette.

Facilities:

  • Private swimming pool 4.50 x 3 metres & depth 1.60 metres
  • Air-con throughout
  • WiFi
  • TV
  • Dishwasher/microwave
  • Complimentary Korres toiletries
  • Pool towels & hairdryers provided

The owner of Spinolatika has a 26ft Boston Whaler, taking up to 12 guests, available to hire with a skipper for an additional cost (subject to availability and payable locally).

Nicos' House guests have access to a private parking lot in Lakka village.
