Round House
The Round House has a secluded hillside location in the small and peaceful hamlet of Apergatika. The House, modelled on a stone windmill, is above Monodendri beach and beautiful Lakkos beach on Paxos’ east coast, half way between Loggos and Lakka. The beaches are just a 10 minute walk through olive groves.
The views from the pool terrace, over sweeping valleys of silver olive and dark green cypress trees and across the sea to the Greek mainland, are dramatic. From the upstairs sitting room the views are even better.
This special location allows one to follow the slow progress of coast-hugging fishing boats and the arrival of yachts and ferries from other Ionian islands. By night there is a theatre of twinkling lights from the mountain villages on the mainland.
The Round House is extremely comfortable both inside and out. A large “outdoor” kitchen opens on to the pool terrace and a series of stone pathways, bordered by citrus trees, bougainvillaea, jasmine, hibiscus, plumbago and roses.
The interiors are spacious and are furnished colourfully and elegantly.
At one end of the nearby Monodendri beach there is Bastas Taverna (serving the best grilled octopus and feta pizza we have tasted) and at the other end: Ben’s Bar (with resident masseur and ambient music to accompany a long list of cocktails) and on a hillside terrace above is Eftihia (Ben’s mum)’s excellent taverna with freshly caught fish and freshly plucked ingredients.

Location: Lakka is 1 kilometre away so a 15-20 minute walk (partly up hill on way back). Car hire recommended for ease of access and to explore the island. 5 minute drive to shops, tavernas, boat hire and beaches of Lakka. Loggos is also a 5 minute drive away.
Accommodation: ground floor of a double bedroom and en suite shower room. External stairs to first floor of a master double bedroom and en suite shower room. Top floor circular sitting room. Well-equipped outdoor kitchen and dining area.

Because of the external access to the bedrooms we do not recommend the Round House for toddlers.
