If you haven’t been to Paxos you might think that a 2-week holiday on such a tiny island would quickly become boring and repetitive. If you favour waterparks, wild nightclubs, large accommodation complexes and endless organised excursions then Paxos is not for you in any case.

But there is diversity in a choice of what to do and also in where to stay.

A wise choice of location is to be close to one of the island’s villages but inland and elevated to escape the smallest of crowds and to have dramatic sea views.

Cavallino, an 800 year old farmhouse, has been transformed by the British owners of Aspro Alogo to be one of the most comfortable retreats on Paxos.

The house is hidden away in the hills above Lakka, in the sleepy hamlet of Gramatakeika, but is just a 5 minute drive away or a 25 minute walk from the Lakka waterfront.

Gramatakeika is a beautifully unspoilt, Durrelesque, Paxos hideaway, with just a few stone houses and a real get back to the old Greece feel of peace and tranquillity. The beautiful church and campanile of Ipapandi is just a 5 minute walk away.

Cavallino is totally private and has a large garden, containing an olive grove, and surrounding terraces leading to a pool terrace, a swanky outside kitchen and a boules court.

Cavallino’s views take in Ipapandi’s campanile and olive groves to the south and to the north and east, Lakka Bay and across the sea to Corfu and the mountains of the Greek mainland.

The house has been furnished and equipped to a high standard of comfort and style.

Private swimming pool 10 x 4 metres (Electrolysis water purification and filtration - not chlorinated)
