Athanasia
Villa Athanasia stands on a hillside of olive and cypress trees just above Kaki Lagatha beach, just a few bays north of Gaios on Paxos’ east coast.
Athanasia is a totally private, spacious, funky, modern, colourful and comfortable villa with dramatic views over Kaki Lagatha Bay, along the coastline and across the sea to Corfu and the mountains of the Greek mainland.
No properties overlook Athanasia. About 100 metres below the villa are 3 individual villas, which are just above the coastal road.
A small flight of steps lead from the coastal road down to Kaki Lagatha beach.
The villa was completed recently and the Italian owner has ensured that everything has been designed and finished to a high standard. The villa is intended to provide sumptuous comfort both inside and out.
From Athanasia’s many terraces one can follow the slow progress of local fishing boats and the arrival of yachts and ferries from other Ionian islands. By night there is a theatre of twinkling lights from the mountain villages on the mainland.
These views can be enjoyed from each terrace level but the best view is from the top floor terrace, where there is a mini kitchen to prepare tea or coffee for sunrise or a cocktail for sunset. All bedrooms and living areas open out on to individual terraces.
The large swimming pool terrace has a four poster day bed at one end and an elaborate barbecue area (more of an outside kitchen) at the other end.
Athanasia has quite a few steps both inside and outside so not recommended for unsupervised toddlers.

Location: car hire recommended. The shops, tavernas, bars and boat hirers of Gaios are a drive of 8 minutes. Kaki Lagatha beach is just a 3 minute walk away (the property has a steep driveway). Loggos is a drive of 10 minutes. Fontana village (taverna and general store) is a 4 minute drive.

Ground floor of an open-plan sitting room, dining area and kitchen; one double bedroom and en suite bathroom with shower. Steps up to first floor of three double bedrooms and one twin bedroom, each with an en suite shower room. Steps down from sitting room to a twin bedroom and en suite shower room; gym and sauna, shower room; utlity room. Steps up to rooftop terrace. External access (10 steps from pool terrace) to one double bedroom with a double sofa bed and en suite shower room.

"It’s something that we never really do but the experience that we had with Ionian Villas and Dimitris makes it fully justifiable.
There’s always a risk that something could go horribly wrong when booking a villa in a relatively remote place that no one in the party has visited before for three families but from the start your company has been absolutely fantastic.
The villa we stayed at – Athanasia – couldn’t have been better with regards to the villa itself as well as the stunning location just above the perfect cove for swimming; it’s the stuff that dreams are made of and everything involved from the booking process to any communication we had was easy and hassle free so very many thanks.
Special mention must also be given to Dimitris on the island itself. His organisation for the group, assurances and flexibility couldn’t be faltered and everything worked to clockwork so please relay our sincerest thanks to him and his team for making the process so easy for us.
We will be back to Paxos in the very near future. Personally it’s probably the best location that I’ve ever been to from the island itself, the people, the food, the villa, the swimming, the list goes on and on but thank you; the only risk is that too many people may discover it ………
