Villa Barba Yanni is on a hillside terrace high above the port of Gaios, which is just 2 kilometres away.
On this website we have described views as "stunning", "marvellous", "dramatic" and "magnificent" but Barba Yanni's views surpass all others.
From the pool terrace one looks down over a hillside of silver olive trees to the terracotta rooftops of Gaios houses, the arrival and departure of yachts and fishing boats, the offshore island of Panayia with its ancient nunnery and across the sea to the Greek mainland. Captivating and mesmerising.
Villa Barba Yanni is one of five similar villas but they are a good distance apart and stone walls and established gardens ensure privacy.
Private swimming pool: 8 x 5 metres & depth 0.80 – 1.8 metres
Maid service & linen change twice per week
Location: car hire recommended. The shops, tavernas, boat hire and nearby beaches of Gaios are a 5 minute drive away (2 kilometres). The excellent Thimari taverna in Bogdanatika village is a 15 minute walk.
Accommodation: open-plan sitting room, dining area and kitchen; one double bedroom and en suite bathroom with shower; one twin bedroom and en suite bathroom with shower.
Facilities:
We have returned (to the finally sunny UK!!) after having a fabulous holiday on Paxos. Villa Barba Yianni was wonderful - comfortable, with amazing sea views and beautifully kept pool and gardens. Each time we return, we find the views even more breathtaking than we remember as photos never do it true justice.
Our transfers were made easy and all went really well. We have had a great time and thank you for all your help.
Just wanted to drop you a line after settling back under the clouds here in London and mourning the fact that we are no longer there on Paxos. It really was a fantastic break, great place and as you had said "views to die for". We rarely ventured out as it was the tonic that we really needed. The house was perfect in all respects.
I genuinely hope that we will be able to come back next year at about the same time as we kind of now feel that we are the grandparents!!
