Hidden away amongst five hillside acres of citrus orchards, olive groves and cypress trees above the small east coast port of Benitses, the mid 18th Century Venetian residence of The Manor House is possibly the most unique retreat on Corfu. The visitors books contain the signatures of crowned heads and their families, film stars and celebrities – testament to a special comfort and privacy.
The views from the main stone balcony of the sea between Corfu and the mountains of Epirus are unforgettable. The private grounds extend from a small garden shaded by an enormous avocado tree, through citrus groves and up to a hillside forest with a myriad of walks and dramatic views.
Brought sensitively into the 21st Century by the present owner, Jan Manessi, the Manor House will appeal to those looking for a comfortable escape with attachments to the past rather than bland modern luxury.
Private swimming pool: 12 x 6 metres & depth 1.6 metres
Maid service once per week and linen change twice weekly.
Location: car hire recommended. Shops and tavernas of Benitses are 1.5 kms. 10 minute walk to nearest beach. Corfu Town is 12 kms.
Accommodation: main reception room leading to a sitting room; a large kitchen; "library" bedroom with a single bed; bathroom/utility room with shower. Stairs up to four double bedrooms; one twin bedroom; one bathroom with bath & shower; one shower room. Outside steps down to the estate’s private chapel.
