The Greek word "Iremia" means calm, serenity. 

On Corfu's west coast, high above Pelekas beach, Iremia hides away amongst hillside swathes of olive groves.

Only just completed, the property will satisfy those looking for total privacy, sumptuousness, big sea views and space.

The owners of Iremia describe their Corfu home as a splendid combination of old-world romance meets modern design - a 7-acre olive grove on the west coast in a haven of wilderness.

The property has theatrical sea and mountain views of Corfu’s mystical west coast and the tiny uninhabited island of Kyriadiki, host to a small ancient church and families of sea birds and eagles. The newborn birds start their flying lessons in early summer - another scene in Iremia's theatre. And a curtain call of spectacular sunsets. 

The large living room and bedrooms have sea-facing glass walls, conjuring up the feeling of being at one with the sea.

Floors and open ceilings of cypress wood give a wonderfully perfumed fragrance.

Behind the house, there is a Moroccan styled garden of pink stone, which offers natural shade on summer days, a bubbling water feature, cushioned arbours and hammocks for a peaceful siesta surrounded by citrus trees, palms, tropical flowers and fragrant herbs.

A series of steps connect the wide terraces, each with comfy areas for relaxing and dining and enjoying sun or shade. 

Chef services are included in the villa rental price (food costs are extra). Spiros, the chef, has built up an impressive range of culinary skills from his experience at 5 Star hotels in Saudi Arabia and in Greece. Spiros and his assistant will discuss the needs of Iremia's guests prior to the preparation and serving of breakfast and dinner on six days per week.  

Maid service 6 days per week. Linen changes on request.

Location: car hire recommended but there is a concierge service for the property and private transportation can be arranged at anytime. Below the house is a small bay with a beach and the excellent Yaliskari Beach Fish Taverna - one kilometre away. Pelekas is the nearest village, with a good selection of tavernas and shops - a 5 minute drive. The sandy beaches and tavernas of Glyfada and Agios Gordios are 10 minutes away by car. The immediate west coastline has sandy beaches big and small.

Accommodation: ground floor of a long living area with an open-plan kitchen, dining area and scullery; cloakroom. First floor of three sea-facing double bedrooms and one double bedroom facing the Moroccan garden, each with an en suite bathroom. Lower ground floor of two double bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom; a wine bar offering organic wines from Greece, France and Italy; mini cinema; utlity room.
