For many visitors to Corfu, the north east coast is the most attractive part of the island: hillsides of olive and citrus groves, peppered by tall cypress trees, descending to sheltered bays with white shingle beaches.

If you have already visited Corfu it is highly likely that you will have heard of Agni Bay.

Agni’s surrounding hillsides hide palatial villas. A string of seaside villages, ports and resorts offer well organised watersports and good waterfront tavernas.

The intimacy of little Agni Bay has not been spoilt by the coastline’s popularity – there are only a few houses above the bay’s beach and just three beachfront tavernas (plus boats for hire).

Hiring a boat from Agni beach allows for coastal exploration to find beaches and waterfront tavernas.

Agni Bay Retreat is surrounded by hillside olive groves and looks out over Agni Bay and out to sea. From the villa’s gardens there is a footpath down through olive groves to the access track for the beach – a walk of 5 minutes.

Large grounds within an olive grove, carefully landscaped with terraces for relaxing in sun and shade, provide peaceful privacy and beguiling views down a valley of silver olives and proud cypress trees. Across the sea, Albania’s coastline is clearly visible.

Dining terraces for large parties are shaded by olive trees.

Location: car hire recommended for exploring the island but boat hire (from Agni Bay) will be more fun! There are 3 tavernas just above the beach and a snack/cocktail bar - excellent for feeding children an early quick supper (pizza, spaghetti etc). The nearest supermarket is 3 kilometres away (supermarkets can deliver to the villa). A bigger selection of shops (and a livelier atmosphere) can be found at Ipsos (10 kilometres south) or Kassiopi (10 kilometres north). The villa is approximately a 45-minute drive from Corfu airport.

Accommodation: The property consists of a main house and just a few steps away, an annexe beside a lemon tree courtyard.

The main house has a ground floor of a living and dining room; kitchen; cloakroom. On the first floor: two double bedrooms, one with an en suite bathroom with shower and one with an en suite shower room; one bedroom with 2 sets of bunk beds; bathroom with shower.

The annexe has two double bedrooms, each with an en suite shower room.

Facilities:
