Built in the 17th Century as a nobleman’s mansion, the Cavalieri first opened its doors as an elegant and intimate hotel for discerning visitors to Corfu in the early 1960’s.

Corfu Town has preserved the fine architecture of Venetian, French and English occupation; a stroll through the maze of narrow streets will enamour both the historian and the romantic sightseer.

At the heart of Corfu’s Old Town, The Cavalieri Hotel stands at one end of a long arcade, bordered by Judas trees, built by the French under Napoleon as a second Rue de Rivoli. At the other end of the arcade are the arched and colonnaded bars of the Liston, which overlook the town’s cricket pitch and Venetian Fortress.

The Cavalieri’s sea-facing rooms and the rooftop restaurant boast the best views in town of the adjacent Esplanade Square, the tiled rooftops of the Old Town, the bell tower of Saint Spiridon church and across the sea to mainland Greece and the mountains of Albania.

The hotel’s 59 rooms are comfortable, dignified and elegant. Staff are friendly. Breakfasts are good. Room service is usually quick. For such a special location in Corfu Town, we consider the Cavalieri to be excellent value.

Just behind the hotel a narrow street of cobblestones leads to Guildford Square and has an interesting selection of excellent restaurants and cafe bars. The many attractions of Corfu Town are close by. The airport and the port are just a five minute taxi ride away.

All rooms have en suite bathroom, free WiFi, air-con, Satellite TV, safety box, mini fridge, hairdryer. On the ground floor there is a lounge bar and the rooftop restaurant is open June to October.
