Odyssea Villa 2
Just above the fjord-like entrance to Vathy Bay, a track leads inland to an undulating, natural landscape with just a few houses hidden amongst olive groves and pine forest. Wild herbs such as oregano, thyme and spearmint, line the many hillside goat paths.
One bay north of Vathy, lies Dexa beach, sheltered by a shoreline of olive groves.
The three Odyssea Villas are on a hillside, surrounded by this beautiful landscape and look out over Dexa beach. Just two of the three villas have been completed for the 2024 season: one villa with one bedroom (Odyssea Villa 1) and the other with two bedrooms (Odyssea Villa 2).
In Homer's Odyssey, Odysseus is returned to Ithaca by a Phaeacian longboat (the boat is then petrified by Poseidon). It is said that the Phaeacians left a sleeping Odysseus on Dexa Beach. When he awoke he hid their gifts in the Cave of the Nymphs. It is believed by many that this cave is the Marmaro Spilia (Marble Cave), which is to be found close to the Odyssea Villas.
The views from each villa take in the large bays of Aetos and Dexa, the tiny island of Skartsoubonisi and Ithaca's Mount Neritos. Only one or two houses can be seen in the far distance and the surrounding hillside is pastoral peace personified.

Location: car hire recommended. Vathy, with a good selection of shops, tavernas and boat hire, is within a 10 minute drive. There is a good selection of beaches on both east and west coasts – all within a 10 minute drive.

Villa 2 has an open-plan sitting room with double sofa bed, dining area and kitchen; one double bedroom and en suite shower room.
