The five Sunset Cottages are perched up high on Ithaca’s west coast, two kilometres south of Stavros village and just a five minute drive to Polis Bay beach.
The views from each cottage and the pool terraces are over silver olive trees and tall cypress trees and across a narrow strip of Ionian sea to Kefalonia, whose forested hillsides form a theatrical backdrop for the setting sun. Fiscardo is visible and looking down Ithaca’s coastline, Polis Bay can be seen.
Surrounded by hillside terraces of olive groves, three cottages and the pool are on an upper terrace and two cottages on a lower terrace.
The two lower terrace cottages each have a slightly larger terrace than the upper cottages and the views are slightly better - the upper cottages overlook the tops of the lower cottage rooves.
Each cottage is slightly set back from its neighbour and each private, sea-facing terrace, framed by crimson bougainvillaea, has a small garden of citrus and peach trees.
Sunset Cottages will appeal to couples looking for comfortable accommodation, a peaceful setting and some of the most dramatic views on Ithaca.

"We stayed in Aqua cottage, which is closest to the pool, very handy for frequent quick dips! The cottages are immaculate, well thought out, well equipped, beautifully maintained and the views over to Kefalonia are superb. Location is gorgeous - trust me when I say you can hear a pin drop!
You do need a car as the road down to the cottages is steep and the nearest village of Stavros is probably a good 20 minute walk even if you had the crampons to get you up to the main road!!
Sue, the island contact couldn't do enough for us and was contactable by email and phone for any query. Would we return? In a heartbeat!!"

"We loved the holiday, sunset was just perfect, clean, well-designed, tranquil, fabulous views.
Evangelos was a charming owner and Julia his maid was a total sweetheart.
Itahaca is a gem. We will be back many times."

"Yet again Ithaka has come up trumps. We all throughly enjoyed our time on the island.
As you may already know we want to return next year."
"The transfers from/to the airport - taxi/boat/taxi - were just incredible, a real treat and thanks to Sue for arranging everything.
Sunset Cottages are a delight, beautifully looked after by Julie and The Captain. Having Julie resident onsite is a real bonus.
I'm genuinely struggling to find anything negative to say about what for us was a lovely holiday and we will certainly be going back - if not next year then very soon."
