Medusa
Half way up Kefalonia’s east coast, the port of Sami looks out across a large bay to the smaller port of Agia Efimia.
Villa Medusa and its sister villa, Athena, are 2 kilometres along the coast from Sami and just a ten minute walk away from the beach, which extends from the port of Sami to the port of Karavomilos. Between Sami and Agia Efimia there are many beaches.
Medusa and Athena were built by Danny, a native Kefalonian from Stockholm, and Satu from Oulu in Finland. Surrounded by Danny and Satu’s olive groves, these pretty stone villas have a peaceful, countrified location. Sounds of clunking sheep bells rather than cars.
Large gardens contain grass lawns and a lack of steps so good for children. A dividing wall of stone provides privacy. Views from the first floor balconies are over the tops of silver-leafed olive trees and across the sea to Ithaca. There is an elaborate, covered barbecue and dining area beside the pool for each villa.
Private swimming pool 9 x 4 metres & depth 1.2 – 1.7 metres
Maid service & linen change twice weekly
Location: car hire recommended. There are daily ferries to Ithaca from Sami. Both Sami and Karavomilos have good tavernas and shops. The nearby submerged Lake Melissani has a dramatic display of stalactites, viewed from a small boat, rowed by the guide.
