Blue Shutters
Blue Shutters is a special retreat for a large gathering of friends or family.
Set on a hillside terrace, in the foothills of north Zakynthos’ mountain range, Blue Shutters is surrounded by valleys of patchwork olive groves and wild myrtle. It has total privacy.
Hidden away from the outside world, but just a few minutes’ drive to beaches, shops and tavernas, Blue Shutters has the feel of a privately owned, mini hamlet with big views over the sea to Kefalonia and the mainland of Greece.
Seven individual cottages are connected by a series of stone courtyards and terraces to provide delightful spaces both for intimacy and for partying.
The cottages were once the homes of island olive-pickers. The present owners have held on to the property’s history and character – a clever mix of simplicity and modernity is evident in the white stone and polished concrete floors, gnarled roof beams, basins of local limestone, undulating walls - but with stylish fixtures, fabrics, furnishings and fittings to ensure a high standard of modern comfort.
A central courtyard, shaded in parts by a large olive tree, plumbago and bougainvillaea, is home to the table tennis table and the barbecue. The pool terraces are spacious.
Blue Shutters is a peaceful place. There are good walks from the house up into the hills and the views are dramatic.
Guests have complimentary use of a Laser Pico sailing dinghy and paddle boards.

Location: car hire recommended. Tavernas, shops and boat hire of Agios Nikolaos are a 5 minute drive below the villa. Small coves, beaches and waterfront tavernas can all be found nearby. Zakynthos Town is 30 kilometres.

Main cottage with open-plan sitting room, dining area and kitchen leading out to swimming pool terraces.
Lara cottage (twin bedroom and en suite bathroom) and Ben cottage (double/twin bedroom and en suite bathroom) are terraced.
George cottage (double bedroom and en suite bathroom) and Issy bedroom (double bedroom and en suite bathroom) are terraced.
Jemima cottage (small twin bedroom and en suite shower room) and Family cottage (double bedroom, en suite bathroom and dressing room suitable for a child’s bedroom) are terraced.
Emily’s cottage (double/twin bedroom and en suite bathroom) is above Jemima cottage with external staircase access.

The prices quoted are for 7-14 people staying for 1 week (July & August prices are for 2-14 people) - please ask us for reduced prices for 2-6 people.
There is a £500 refundable security deposit.
