Lefteris' House

3 Bedrooms / 4 Bathrooms / Sleeps 6

Hidden away on hillsides of olive groves between Gaios and the south west coast of Paxos there are a handful of tiny, sleepy hamlets.

Lefteris’ House is in the hamlet of Fanariotatika, close to Veliantatika and 2 kilometres away from Gaios.

Although close to the shops, tavernas and waterfront café bars of Gaios, Lefteris’ House has countrified privacy and seclusion and provides a peaceful escape.

Lefteris, the owner of the house, has a boat rental office on Gaios waterfront. He has renovated his family’s house to provide elegant, modern comforts and to retain the original features of a spacious, traditional island home of hand-cut stone. All the wooden furniture has been handmade on Paxos from the island’s cypress and olive trees.

Stone terraces surround the house, bordered by gardens of topiarised bougainvillaea, lemon and mandarin trees.

From the spacious rooms and the raised dining terrace there are dramatic views over the rooftops of other hamlet houses, across hillsides of olive and out to the west coast sea. A small roof terrace (not suitable for toddlers) has the best view.

Daily maid service and linen change twice weekly

Location: car hire recommended. The surrounding area is good for walkers with spectacular views of the beautiful, dramatic west coast and secluded creeks just a few minutes’ walk away. There are 2 tavernas just a 10 minute walk away in the hamlet of Makratika, where the local bus, which links Gaios, Loggos and Lakka, also stops. The main village of Gaios is a 25-minute walk or 5 minute drive and there are several beaches within a 10 minute drive.

Accommodation:
