The tiny island of Mogonisi is attached to the south eastern tip of Paxos by a narrow track.
Mogonisi’s northern coastline looks back to Paxos’ coastline over a large bay, which shelters a sandy beach, Theo’s Taverna and Carnayo Gold café and snack bar.
Villa Kalamboki is on the east coast of Mogonisi. The villa has total privacy and its large grounds lead down to flat bathing rocks and steps into the sea – just 100 metres away. The grounds are enclosed by stone walls and a secure gate leading to the sea.
The views are exceptional: to the north, the eastern coastline of Paxos and the island of Panayia just opposite the entrance to Gaios port; to the east, the mountains of the Greek mainland and to the south, the open sea leading to AntiPaxos.
This special location allows one to follow the slow progress of local fishing boats and the arrival of yachts and ferries from other Ionian islands. By night there is a theatre of twinkling lights from the mountain villages on the mainland.
The sheltered Mogonisi Bay has mooring spots for a hire boat – an excellent way to explore Paxos’ coast and the sandy beaches of AntiPaxos are just a 10 minute boat trip away.
Plunge pool with jets: 30 x 3.30 metres & depth 0.90 metres
Maid service and linen change twice weekly
Location: car hire recommended. The tracks on Mogonisi are uneven in parts so a 4x4 is more comfortable. Gaios (good selection of shops and tavernas) is a 15 minute drive or a 10 minute boat trip (not allowed at night). Mogonisi beach and taverna are a 5 minute walk away.
