Myrtos Beach, on Kefalonia’s north-west coast, has bright turquoise waters, shimmering sand and fine shingle and a backdrop of high cliffs – all creating a stunning theatrical effect as seen in the film Captain Corelli’s Mandolin.
Villa Myrtos is one of a few private houses in the small hamlet of Divarata, which lies at the top of the cliffs – a 10 minute drive to Myrtos beach. The hamlet possesses some beautiful stone, Venetian houses.
The villa enjoys a peaceful and private location with views across the surrounding valleys and mountains.
Spacious interiors open out to individual balconies and terraces surrounding the swimming pool. Created by the owner’s wife, an artist, the established gardens contain pastel pink bougainvillaea, turquoise plumbago, creamy pink oleander, orange contessa sara and assorted roses.
