Bacchus, the Greek god of wine, was also known as the “Liberator”, freeing one from one’s normal self by ecstasy or wine. The divine mission of Bacchus was to mingle the music of the flute and to bring an end to care and worry.
Bacchus House stands above AntiPaxos’ east coast with dramatic and panoramic views across the sea to Paxos, Corfu and the Greek mainland.
The owner’s vineyard lies below the house and there are further vineyards, bordered by pine trees, on either side of the house.
The house has total privacy.
A front terrace leads to the pool terrace and a sheltered garden contains almond, pear, plum, fig, apple and apricot trees – all with wonderful views over the vineyards to the sea.
A walk of 15 minutes from Bacchus House takes one to the sandy beach at Vrika and 2 tavernas. Voutoumi beach (2 tavernas) is a walk of 20 minutes.
Bacchus House is a cosy and private retreat for couples looking for a more unusual escape from the crowds.
Transfers: a speedboat transfer (15 minutes) from Gaios (Paxos) to AntiPaxos and jeep transfer to Bacchus (5 minutes) is included in the villa rental price. George, Bacchus' owner, transfers guests personally and he can tell you about AntiPaxos' secrets on the way there.
On arrival at Gaios there will be time for you to shop for provisions or we can arrange for provisions to be pre-ordered and delivered to Bacchus for arrival day. Further shopping can be arranged by the owner, who will charge 15 Euros for each delivery.
Boat hire can be prebooked through us with mooring at the little port of Agrapidia below the villa. A hired boat gives another option for shopping on Paxos.
