Tassoula
Tassoula House is set privately on the outskirts of the two countrified hamlets of Velianitatika and Makratika.
Gaios village, Paxos’ capital, is just one kilometre away.
Tassoula was once a simple island house of stone and has now been brought into the 21st Century with a careful eye to preserve its original features.
A two minute walk below the house is Karkeletsos Taverna and a further one minute walk is Vontza’s Taverna – both good, traditional eateries.
A five minute walk above the house is the old village of Velianitatika, which has a stepped, flagstoned “High Street” with a weathered belltower, a small chapel and a church flanked by olive trees, eight grand houses dating back to the early 19th Century and peaceful seclusion.
A series of tracks and pathways lead from Velianitatika towards the west coast and a few small hamlets hiding amongst olive groves. Avlaki beach is just over a kilometre away.
Tassoula offers a peaceful, countrified escape from crowds.

Location: car hire recommended. The many tavernas, shops and boat hire of Gaios are a 5 minute drive away.
