Kallisto was a nymph who was taken advantage of by Zeus.
Villa Kallisto is a large, traditional house close to the village of Magazia in the centre of the island, surrounded by olive groves. The villa has total privacy and only the sounds of nature to disturb.
Paxos has many tiny hamlets, hidden amongst olive groves – some consisting of only a few houses. Kallisto hides away in the hamlet of Manisatika, which is reached via a twisting track leading from the village of Magazia to the dramatic cliffs of Kastanitha on the west coast. There are hundreds of ancient goat paths to explore.
For us the main charm of Kallisto lies in the beautiful gardens surrounding the villa’s swimming pool terrace. Olive and lemon trees, raised stone beds of grasses and palms, smooth stone terraces and a backdrop of gnarled olive tree trunks give Kallisto a softer edge than the more modern villa.
