We feature two hotels in Corfu Town: the Cavalieri and the Corfu Palace. Both are perfect “stop-over” hotels for those wanting to stay one or two nights in beautiful Corfu Town.
The Corfu Palace’s exterior has an austere 1970’s look but its interiors and swimming pool gardens are wonderful.
A recent Tripadvisor guest wrote: “In recent years I have visited the Corfu Palace three times and it rates as my favourite hotel. Its location, grounds and space per guest are fantastic. The staff have been there forever and the
Hotel has real character.”
The hotel overlooks the bay of Garitsa, just 400 metres from the heart of Corfu’s Old Town: the Esplanade Square and the arched and colonnaded bars of the Liston, which border the town’s cricket pitch.
Each of the hotel’s 115 spacious rooms looks out across the bay to the Venetian Fortress and across the sea to the Greek mainland – a nautical theatre of yachts, fishing boats, ferries and hydrofoils.
We stay there regularly and find the staff to be friendly; the buffet breakfast to be appetizing; room service to be quick and the beds comfortable.
A large swimming pool (sea water) is bordered by wide terraces and lawns (plenty of space for all) and a covered bar and restaurant.
A ten minute walk away to an Old Town arcade, bordered by Judas trees, leads to a narrow cobblestone street with an interesting selection of excellent restaurants and cafe bars.
The many attractions of Corfu Town are close by. The airport and the port are just a five minute taxi ride away.
All rooms have an en suite marble bathroom, balcony or terrace, free WiFi, air-con, Satellite TV, safety box, mini bar, hairdryer. The main restaurant has dining inside and outside. The hotel’s casino is the only one on the island. The hotel Spa specialises in seawater therapies.
