A contract is deemed to exist once Ionian Villas has received the deposit payment and has issued a confirmation. The person who signs the booking form accepts the following contract terms and conditions on behalf of everyone named in the booking.
Accurate Descriptions: Ionian Villas takes great care to ensure that the descriptions are as accurate as possible and that prices are correct. Furniture and fittings may sometimes vary from website pictures if the owner has changed a piece of furniture or the decor. A new house may have been built to obscure a view. We reserve the right to make changes and to inform you of any price change or material descriptive change at the time of booking.
Disturbances: Many of the Ionian Villas’ properties have a rural location and there might be a presence of wildlife such as ants, wasps, lizards, fieldmice or rodents. Villa owners will endeavour to eliminate any presence if discovered. Nearby building work may start without warning. If such a disturbance occurs during your stay we will try to arrange alternative accommodation but we cannot guarantee that this will be possible.
Ionian Villas may be forced to make a change to the accommodation arrangements due to circumstances outside Ionian Villas’ control or due to unforeseen situations at the time of confirming your booking. Ionian Villas will do its best to provide comparable arrangements but if they are not able to do so, a full and immediate refund will be made, and the Company shall be under no further liability. In the case of force majeure causing the cancellation of your holiday (such as war, strikes, fires, natural disasters, significant building work ongoing close to your accommodation etc.), no refund will be given.
Cancellation by you: If you are forced to cancel your booking you must notify us either by recorded or registered mail or by email. Cancellation takes effect on the date we receive your written notification. You will be liable to pay the following cancellation charges (as a percentage of total booking cost):
More than 49 days before arrival: booking deposit (30%) only
48 – 29 days before arrival: 40%
28 – 22 days before arrival: 60%
21 – 15 days: 80%
14 – 0 days: 100%
A fee of £25 per person will be charged for a booking change (such as accommodation or date change) requested more than 8 weeks before arrival. An alteration requested within 8 weeks of arrival will be treated as a cancellation of the original booking (attracting cancellation charges) and a new booking.
Cancellations or Alterations by Ionian Villas: In the unlikely event that Ionian Villas has to cancel the booking (except in the case of a client defaulting on payment) or make a material amendment to a booking after the booking has been confirmed, the client will be informed without delay and will be offered the choice of an alternative property or a full refund of all monies paid. Provided that Ionian Villas complies with these conditions to the best of its ability, the Company is in no way liable for any breach of contract and subsequent claim that may arise from a Client as a result of any inconveniences suffered. Under no circumstances will Ionian Villas be liable for any claim made against it, if a Client arranges alternative accommodation without prior consultation and agreement in writing from Ionian Villas.
Payment: The balance of your booking cost is due to be paid at least 8 weeks before your arrival. We will send you a reminder 10 weeks before your arrival. If the balance has not been paid by 7 weeks prior to your arrival your holiday will be cancelled and your deposit will be forfeited. Bookings made within 8 weeks before arrival must be paid in full before we can confirm your booking.
Complaints: During your holiday, any problem with the accommodation must be reported to the owner, caretaker or agent. If the problem remains unresolved you should contact us (you will be provided with a 24 hour contact number for Ionian Villas). Compensation payments will only be considered where it is proven that any reported problem had a prolonged or major impact on the enjoyment of the accommodation booked. Ionian Villas cannot be held responsible or be liable for compensation for events outside their control eg weather, natural disasters, local festivities, fire, building works nearby, local authorities’ responsibilities or restrictions. The Company cannot accept liability for causes of dissatisfaction which are not notified by the client within 10 days of the completion of the holiday.
Damage: Should a client be responsible for damage to or loss of any item of the villa inventory during their occupation of the holiday accommodation, a charge will be made to cover the cost of replacement or repair.
Travel Insurance: Ionian Villas does not offer travel insurance. You are required to provide for yourselves all necessary insurances against personal injury, loss, damage, theft, cancellation, delay etc.
Accommodation Occupancy: Our website shows the maximum number of persons that may stay in each property. This number may not be exceeded unless prior permission is sought and, if the property owner asks for an extra charge to be levied, a supplementary payment made.
Pets are not permitted at any property unless prior permission is given by Ionian Villas.
